Setting Up a New Blog

Hi everyone,

I'm just getting this new blog set up. I've realized over the past few years that my reading has become more and more "bursty". Maybe it has to do with working long hours, maybe it has to do with the added time demands of a new house and a new family.

Whatever the reason, it's become clear that I now read books primarily when I travel, either to visit family and friends, or on vacation. The problem with reading 7 or 8 books in a week, however, is that there is little time for reflection on each book, and it's all too easy to have each book reduced to very high level "elevator-pitch" style memories.

In any case, many people often ask me what I've read lately, and what my thoughts were on it. I'm hoping that this blog can really serve as a genuine win-win situation: I gain the benefit of writing down my thoughts in this book diary for reflection and recall, and everyone else gains some benefit from seeing what I've read lately and my take on the book.

I have my first vacation since Jacob was born in a couple of weeks, so let's see how the new book blog works in practice. Thanks for tuning in to Adam's Reading List...
